Admission to the undergraduate 2+2 IEP typically begins in the first semester, in accordance with TIET admission norms. After the third semester, students can apply through a streamlined process via the UQ Applicant Portal, supported by a dedicated partnership team to ensure a smooth transfer. For the Postgraduate pathway, applications are routed through the Global Office through an expression of interest from 5th semester students, whereas, Joint PhD is routed through TIET-UQ Center of Excellence in Data Science and AI.
Your Path to a UQ Honours Degree Under this exclusive 2+2 articulation agreement, TIET students spend their initial 2 years pursuing the Bachelor of Engineering at Thapar. Those who satisfy the transition requirements advance to the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, where the remaining 2 years culminate in a globally recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). Programmes: Civil, Computer (Software), Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Computer, and Mechanical Engineering.
A 3+2/3.5+2 progression pathway is available in selective streams for a master of engineering, master of computer science (management) and master of data science. The TIET-UQ Centre of Excellence in Data Science and AI runs a specialized 4 year fully funded joint PhD program where candidates spend 3 years at Thapar and 1 year at UQ in Australia. High-impact areas: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Science.
